John E. Williams

Memorial services for Mr. John Edward Williams, age 61, of Cookeville, TN will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 5:30 until the time of the service. Mr. Williams passed away on August 25, 2014 at Saint Thomas Mid-town Medical Center in Nashville. John was born January 6, 1953 in Monterey, TN to the late Guy Bohannon and Anna Hatfield Bohannon. He enjoyed making music with his friends and could play several instruments. John was a member of Golden Glove Boxing in Junior High and was the protector for several of his friends. He worked as a Chef from age 13, while learning the trade under Issac Carver at Howard Johnson Restaurant. From 1982 to 1995 he was the Chef and co-manager of Grady's Restaurant here in Cookeville. John also worked with Diversified Graphics before becoming the catering manager at Cookeville Country Club. He is survived by his sister, Kaye Bohannon of Cookeville; one niece, Angela Bohannon of Cookeville, one nephew, Chandler Bohannon of Cookeville and his beloved dog, Scamper. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by two brothers; Carl and Jimmy Bohannon. Bro Ron Phillips & Steve 'Postman' Henry will conduct the service.
