Funeral services for Mr. John "Bud" Wade Davis, age 88 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Hickman will officiate. Interment will follow in Browns Mill Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4pm until 6pm and again Thursday from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects. Due to Covid-19, social distance measures will be observed. Mr. Davis died Monday June 29, 2020 in Sparta from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Bud was born June 9, 1932 in White Co. Tennessee to the late Joe and Lou Davis. He was a graduate of White County High School. Bud worked in the furniture business throughout his life. He helped start Eagle Furniture in Cookeville. He enjoyed setting up a booth at many local flea markets. He loved music and was known for whistling his favorite songs. He was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Wade Davis; and by brother, Joe Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 19 years, Janie "Lois" McDaniel Davis; grandson, Kyle Davis; brothers, Bobby (Janet) Davis and Bill (Nell) Davis, all of Sparta; stepson, Martin McDaniel, and sister-in-law, Reba Davis of Murfreesboro.
