Joey Wiles

June 18, 1976 — June 21, 2022

Joey Alan Favel Wiles, age 46 of Silver Point, TN, passed away on June 21, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Joey was born June 18, 1976, in Dothan, AL. He was a Team Supervisor with Energy 1 Spray Foam and served in the Army National Guard. He was a charter member of University Heights Baptist Church in Cookeville. He loved his family and friends, making them laugh with his playful comments and mischievous twinkle. If anyone had a need, he gave generously and without worrying about his own needs. It is fitting that he has helped strangers by donating his kidneys. Whether working or playing, Joey was hands on. He leaves a gap in the lives around him, but he trusted God with his soul, so they will see him again. Joey is survived by his parents, Dr. Joe and Anna Lee Wiles of Silver Point and his birth mother, Rose Favel, of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by his siblings Nathan Wiles (Sherry) of SC, Shellie Miller (Justin) of Cookeville, and Becky Slayton (Travis) of SC, by his nieces and nephews Chelsea Ziegenfuss (Austin), Jacob Fisk (Sarah), Nicholas Fisk (Mckenzie), Hannah Wiles, Benjamin Miller, and Elijah Miller, and by his grandnephews Liam, Logan, Mason and Spencer. He is also survived by the brother of his heart Andy Baker (Shandrea) and daughter of his heart Emma Kollars in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ross and Winona Favel and George and Minerva Wiles and by his uncles Darrel Favel and Lee Wiles. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 am, Saturday, June 25, at West View Baptist Church, 427 Laurel Avenue, Cookeville, TN. His family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 am until the service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to University Heights Baptist Church, PO Box 2142, Cookeville, TN 38502 or to TTU Baptist Campus Ministries, tntechbcm.com. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111 Share your thoughts and condolences at www.hhhfunerals.com.
