Cookeville-Funeral services for Joanna Huddleston Anderson, 89 of Cookeville will be Friday, December 11 at 2 pm from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was born July 11, 1926 in Putnam County to the late Lawrence M. and Dorothy Phillips Huddleston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rowan D. Anderson (who died May 18, 2005). They were married October 3, 1945 in Rossville, GA. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Lee Huddleston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Pearl Anderson. She was a 1944 graduate of Algood High School and life-long member of Algood United Methodist Church. She was a retired office manager with Rowan D. Anderson Insurance Agency. She also worked with her father and husband and brother at Huddleston Motor Co. in Cookeville. She served many years with the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law Becky and James W. Raines of Cookeville, Beth Anderson and Steve Sears of Brentwood; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Alma Anderson of Cookeville; grandchildren, Scott Raines, Emily Anderson, and Michael Anderson; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Flo Anderson of Old Hickory, TN. Joanna's family will receive friends Friday after 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Doug Thomas, Melvin Anderson, Freddie Nelson, Rellon Phillips, Dennis Palmer, Buddy Qualls, Ken Oakley, and Steve Sears. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Mason and David Goolsby. Chaplain Melinda Bilbrey will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
