Joann Shields

JoAnn Shields stepped out of this world into Jesus arms on September 9, 2023 at the age of 97. She was surrounded with Gods love and the love of her daughter Patti Shields.

Originally born in Akron, Ohio on December 6, 1937, her family moved to Franklin, North Carolina where she met her husband Troy Shields on the church steps on First Baptist Church. After they married, they settled in Kingston, Tennessee where they made their loving home.

JoAnn could always be found working in her garden, flower beds or mowing the yard. JoAnn's true talent was being the organist for 30 years at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingston.

A private graveside service will be held in Kingston at a later date.

We would like to thank her very loving and special caregivers Paula Rufener, Journey Lewis and Milly Edwards. Also Hospice of Tennessee for the loving care and compassion they provided in her final days.
