Graveside services and interment for Jo Ann Horner, age 72, of Hendersonville and formerly of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17 at the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. Jo Ann passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. She was born March 30, 1947 in Cookeville to the late John Martin and Rita Virginia Weeks Horner. Jo Ann was a 1967 graduate of Putnam County Senior High School and attended Tennessee Tech University. She was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ. In 1985, she moved to Hendersonville, TN where she was a member of Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church. Jo Ann was a talented poet and was a passionate advocate for those with special needs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Martin Horner; and niece, Virginia Bilbrey. She is survived by three nieces, Mollie (Geoffrey) Horner-King of Carbondale, IL; Vickie (Jamie) Hargis of Cookeville, and Erica (Eric) Stoke of Murfreesboro; and several great nieces & nephews.
