Funeral services for Mr. Jamil "Jimmy" Zia Sitto, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Tim Singleton will officiate. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Sitto died Wednesday November 23, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County.

He was born October 15, 1942 in the Tel Kaif district of Iraq to the late Zia Sitto and Zarifa Abbo Sitto. His family moved to the United States when he was 12 years old. Jimmy owned Food World Supermarket in Highland Park, Michigan for many years. He and his wife Saundra have lived in Cookeville for the past 10 years and have attended Willow Ave Church of Christ and Monterey Church of Christ.

Jimmy was a devoted family man as a loving husband and father. He especially cherished his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Jamil Sitto; many brothers and sisters; and by a son in law, Vince Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Saundra Simons Sitto; a son, Jeff Jamil Sitto; a daughter, Tarina Miller; and by four grandchildren, Zack Miller, Hannah Miller, Lexi Miller and Jason Sitto.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
