Funeral services for Jimmie Wayne Whiteaker, age 79, of Algood, will be held Tuesday April 16 at 6 p.m. in the Algood Family Event Center, 124 First Avenue, Algood, TN. Pastor Danny Whitson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 p.m. until service time. Jimmie passed away Sunday April 14, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 6, 1939 in Nashville, TN to the late James Herbert and Lola Evelyn Clements Whiteaker. Jimmie was retired Assistant Director of Vocational Rehabilitation with the State of Tennessee. He attended Trinity Assembly and was an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Qualls Whiteaker, whom he married April 6, 1962 in Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Michelle Whiteaker; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jamie Moody; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Glyn Gentry all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Cory Moody and Anna Whiteaker; great-grandson, Johnny Moody; special niece, Tammy Livingston; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tony Whiteaker, Cory Moody, Eddy Locke, Ethan Locke, Ricky Gentry, and Kyle Hannah. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Goff, Jere McCulley, Jerry Sliger, RD Mahan, and Jamie Moody.
