Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Frances Judd Key, 84, of Jackson, TN and formerly of Cookeville will be held Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Kay Park officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Key died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home in Jackson. She was born February 6, 1928 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to the late Herschel and Estalee Judd. Mrs. Key graduated from Cookeville High School and attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU) finishing in 1950. After school, she went to work for the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention. She then became the Secretary to the President of Belmont College before marrying. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Floyd Ray Key; three brothers, Vesper Judd, Philip Judd, and Robert Paul Judd; two sisters, Mildred (Peggy) Judd and Mary Ruth Ashburn. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Ruth Key and Kelly Emily Key, both of Jackson, TN; a granddaughter, Emily Ray Key of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Billy Douglas Judd of Durham, NC and Freddie Lee Judd of Nashville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Lala Key Elliott and her husband Ray, and Divina Key Park and husband Ken; and twenty-five nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
