Jimmie Joe Roberson

Funeral services for Jimmie Joe Roberson, age 74 of Cookeville, will be 3 p.m. Sunday February 20 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. His family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time. Jimmie Joe passed away Wednesday February 16, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1948 in Putnam County, TN to the late Thomas Terry Roberson and Fannie Belle Johnson Roberson. Jimmie Joe was a member of Algood United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. He was a former member of the Upper Cumberland Horseback Riders Association, and an avid Atlanta Braves and UT Volunteers fan. He is survived by his sister, Tommie King of Cookeville; nieces and nephews, LaTonya (Gary) Mott, Kevin King, Patrick (Lilith) King, Terry Fox, and Casey (Andrea) Fox; two great nieces; and two great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Fox. Memorial contributions may be made to Kids Putnam, 1130 Chocolate Dr., Cookeville, TN 38501.
