Jim Woerner

July 15, 1965 — April 17, 2024

James Robert Woerner, known affectionately as Jim to his family and friends, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2024, at his residence in Cookeville. Born on July 15, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim was a beacon of friendship and loyalty throughout his life. His warm presence and charismatic character will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Jim's life was one of dedication and love. He was a cherished companion to Laura Moore, who survives him. His father, Bill Woerner, will remember Jim's unwavering respect and care. Jim's sisters, Katherine Reedholm (Joe) and Rebecca Ashton (Jim), along with his brother, Bill Woerner (Zina Venneberg), will hold dear the memories of their brother's kindness and support. He was an adored uncle to his nieces and nephews, Colleen Skukauski (Brett), Caitlin Reedholm, Annaliese Epke (Sean), Paul Reedholm, Conner Woerner, and Kane Ashton (Kirsten), who will continue to be inspired by his legacy.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving mother, Patricia Woerner; and his nephew, Kevin Ashton.

A friend to many, Jim was the sort of person who would do anything for anybody. His personal and loyal nature made him a confidant and a pillar in the lives of those around him. Jim's interests were as varied as they were fascinating, reflecting the depth and breadth of his character. He was the kind of person you could turn to for a helping hand, a listening ear, or a piece of advice, and he always did so with a smile.

The words that best describe Jim are "friendly" and "loyal." He had an uncanny ability to light up a room with his presence and to make everyone feel like they mattered. His conversations were never dull, and his friendship was a gift that he gave generously.

A celebration of Jim's life is being planned for a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the impact he had on their lives. It will be a time to share stories, laughter, and tears, as those who loved him come together to say farewell to a man who was truly one of a kind.
