1SGT Jerry Caesar Romero, a revered family man and decorated veteran, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 22, 2023, at the age of 87. Born in El Salvador on January 14, 1936, Jerry lived a life marked by courage, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the values he held dear.


Jerry's journey led him from his birthplace to the United States, where he would go on to serve his adopted country with distinction. A retired US Army Special Forces soldier, Jerry's military career spanned three decades, including two tours in Vietnam. His service was characterized by bravery and excellence, earning him the respect and admiration of his comrades and all who knew of his deeds.


Jerry's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his daughter Tina Sullivan and her husband Mike, and his grandchildren, Miquela Sullivan of Cookeville and Jerry Smith of Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Banton Romero.


Jerry's final wishes are being honored with a private graveside service with military honors at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much in service to his country.
