Jerry Roger Randolph passed away on the 11th of May, 2024, in his hometown of Cookeville, TN. Born on May 27, 1952, in Putnam County, TN, Jerry lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, kindness, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Jerry was a proud graduate of Cookeville High School, where his passion for music saw him play in the school band. After graduation, Jerry devoted many years of dedicated service to Wilson Sporting Goods, a job that he performed with diligence and pride. He later served as the assistant director of the Putnam County Solid Waste Department, a role in which he was respected and valued by his colleagues and the community he served.
An avid sports fan, Jerry's enthusiasm for the Tennessee Volunteers and the Titans was unmatched. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, wearing their colors, and rallying those around him with his infectious spirit. Jerry's love for slot car racing exemplified his appreciation for the joys of life, a hobby that he pursued with the same zest and energy that he brought to every endeavor. Also, he enjoyed woodworking, making several furniture pieces.
Jerry will be remembered as a fun-loving individual who was always eager to lend a hand. His selfless nature and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community and a cherished member of his family. He had a knack for filling a room with laughter and making everyone feel at ease, embodying the true spirit of friendship and camaraderie.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Chalus Fleming Randolph, and his brother, John Randolph, Jerry's memory will be held dear by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love with his sisters, Marilyn (Charles) Masters, Carolyn (Bob) Pharris, Sandra Freeman, and Debbie Moss, all of Cookeville; his brother, Jim (Kathy) Randolph of Kansas City, MO; and sister-in-law, Pat Randolph. His numerous nieces and nephews, who adored their fun Uncle Jerry, will miss his playful spirit and the joy he brought to every family gathering.
Jerry's life was one of connection and joy. Whether it was through his work, his music, or his hobbies, he made an impact on those around him. Funny, friendly, and ready to help—these words not only describe Jerry, but they also encapsulate the way he lived his life, always putting others before himself and seeking to make the world a brighter place
Funeral services for Jerry Roger Randolph, age 71 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 12:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. His great nephew, Pastor Adam Pharris, will officiate.
Jerry's family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
Keith Street, Kerry Pharris, Randy Masters, Matt Newton, Marty Masters, Mark Randolph and Jack Buchanan will serve as pallbearers.
