A memorial service for the Rev. Jerome ‘Jerry' Nettleton, age 78 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Joe Weatherly will officiate. A reception will be held immediately following the service. His family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church. He died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Paul Howard and Beryl Elizabeth Brand Nettleton. Jerry was a 1964 graduate of the University of Maryland. He worked as a transportation supervisor for The DuPont Co. in Wilmington, Delaware while raising his family. He also worked as a Real Estate Appraiser in Ocean City, Maryland. Jerry was ordained as a minister in the Episcopal Church in Maryland. Shortly after, he and wife moved to Cookeville in April of 2001 and he has served as a minister at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Joan Ramsay. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrna Gentry Nettleton; daughter, Nancy Ann Murphy of Cookeville; son, Paul Gentry Nettleton of Crossville; and grandchildren, Kyle Nettleton, Kara Nettleton, and Brittany Murphy.
