Jere Earl Nash

Funeral Services for Mr. Jere Earl Nash age 84, of Cookeville, will be Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Nash Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11th, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Nash passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Highlands Medical Center in Sparta. Jere was born March 26, 1929 in Putnam County TN to the late Jessie Nash and Margaret Sherrell Nash. He retired in 1963 from Universal Plastics and spent many years as a farmer in Putnam County. Mr. Nash is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ilene Nash, two brothers; Paul Nash and wife Peggy, and James Nash and wife Darnell all of Cookeville; two sisters; Dorothy Brown and husband Franklin of Knoxville TN and Rose Ramage of East St. Louis IL. as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In addition to his parents Mr. Nash was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Nash, three sisters, Vivian Bates, Myrtle Dildine, and Irene Scriber. Pallbearers will be Joey Lafever, Anthony Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Greg Duncan, Eddie Duncan, Jessie Nash, Dewayne Nash and Perkins Nash, Bro. Tex Boles will officiate the services.
