Jean Watts

BAXTER-Funeral services for Vera Jean Watts, 91 of Baxter, will be Tuesday, June 27 at 12 Noon at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. John Pippin will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday after 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Jean passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville.

She was born August 18, 1931 in Putnam County, TN to the late Robert Denton and Jeannie Mae Gentry Presley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie H. Watts on November 3, 1986, brothers Charles, Ray and Willard "Hootie" Presley.

She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ.

Jean liked to travel, was a great cook and enjoyed her morning coffee. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids.

Survivors include daughters Sharon (Steve) Randall, Nanette Carr all of Baxter, sons Steve (Kathy) Watts of Baxter, Mitchell Watts of Gallatin, 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Chaffin, Brent Watts, Jeremy Davis, Dane Carr, John Fitzpatrick and Ben Fox.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of your choice.
