Funeral service for Mr. JD Brewington, age 84, of Cookeville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 23 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Daughrity officiating. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service. Mr. Brewington passed away Thursday morning June 21, 2018 at his home. He was born December 7, 1933 in the Board Valley Community of White County, TN to the late Lonnie E. and Lula Mae Randolph Brewington. Mr. Brewington was an US Army veteran. He retired co-owner of the B & B Grill/Pool Room for 26 years. He was a very loving and caring person to all he met. He enjoyed farming, cattle, gardening, and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Callie Hazel Steward Brewington, who he married December 20, 1958 in Cookeville; two daughters, Debbie and Lisa Brewington, both of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kyle and Dustin Bilbrey, Brandon (Amanda) Henley, all of Cookeville, and Lacy (Jason) Stamps of Baxter; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Alex, and Braydon Henley, Emma, Morgan, and Jackson Stamps; five sisters, Byrda (Johnnie) Steward of Elkton, MD, Tootsie (Ralph) Dunn of Cookeville, Eulene Holmes of Cookeville, Willene (Harold) Jackson of Cookeville and Judy Hoskins of Cookeville; brother, Jimmy (Susan) Brewington of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Dimple Coffey; infant sister, Dorothy Jewell Brewington; and brother, Riley E. Brewington. Serving as pallbearers are Kyle and Dustin Bilbrey, Brandon Henley, Shawn Steward, Greg Duncan, Jeff Jackson, Jason Stamps, and Stewart Brewington. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Mr. Brewington's brother-in-law, Buddy Steward, for his special care and support. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
