Janice Lois Allen

Funeral services for Janice Lois Allen, 65, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Carlen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center She was born July 16, 1944, in Putnam County to the late Clyde Cecil Alcorn and Flora Belle Qualls. Janice was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her family includes her husband: Dean Allen; Five Sons: Tracy Thomas of Gainesboro, Tim Thomas and wife Lori of Houston TX, Terry W. Thomas and wife Tammy of Gainesboro, Kevin Clark Allen and wife Sherri of Lebanon TN, Jeffrey D. Allen and wife Connie of Lebanon TN. One Daughter: Deana Grady and husband Tim of Cookeville. Two Sisters: Anna Bell Scott of Baxter and Dorothy Burris of Gainesboro. Eleven Grandchildren: Tracy Thomas Jr. Matthew Thomas, Janna Thomas, Alyssa Burnes, Joshua Allen, Jenny Allen, Justin Allen, Cody Allen, Caleb Allen, Megan Hastings and husband Michael, Travis Grady and TJ Armstrong. Two Great-Grandchildren Mia and Emery Hastings. A sister-in-law, Sue Flatt and husband Bill of Tampa FL and two Brothers-in-law, James Allen and wife Diane of Ringold GA and John Argo of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Argo, and her mother-in-law, Maude Thomas. Bro. Ronald Strong will officiate at the services
