Janice Elizabeth Reynolds Brown

Funeral Services for Mrs. Janice Elizabeth Reynolds Brown, age 74, of Cookeville will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service. Janice passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born March 28, 1938 in Birmingham AL to the late Marow Reynolds and Eleanor Dial Reynolds. Mrs. Brown was active in the arts, and was well known and respected for her giving spirit. She had worked as a volunteer at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Meals on Wheels, and at the Putnam County Court House. In addition Janice had been honored by the Mayor of Cookeville for her volunteer work in the community. Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chapter 152 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Pink Ladies (Breast Cancer Awareness Group). Mrs. Brown is survived by her two sons, George Tim Brown (wife Hilarey) of San Diego CA and Mike Brown (wife Karen) of Knoxville. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Timothy Noah Brown and Zoey May Brown both of San Diego, as well as a sister-in-law, Ruby Reynolds of Birmingham. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, George Brown and two brothers, Edward and Robert Reynolds. Memorial gifts may be made to the Women’s Breast Cancer Center and the Pink Ribbon of Hope at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Bro. Max Mayo will officiate the services.
