She was born March 20, 1947 in Algood, TN to the late Cecil and Wilene Martin Jaquess. Mrs. Bohannon was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Bohannon was married to James Swack for 19 years; they had time together raising a family and many good years. She started out working at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, many years in the banking industry with American Bank and Trust, many years at Russell Stovers and retired to build a business with her husband. She and Harlan Bohannon ran his family farm, they raised cattle, hay and all that entails. They built a strong business hauling vehicles. Her husband entrusted her to drive all the farm equipment, the Roll Backs and preferred her, over men that had been doing it for years because his Jan Jan would do it best. The worked side by side in business and in life. They spent many years at Austin Bottom area on Center Hill Lake making many memories with friends and family going on those special boat rides. They made friends up and down the interstate that were like family at the locations where they would pick-up vehicles. When he passed this life, she took on the responsibility of the kitchen for her church and she worked equally as hard feeding those in need. She had a special gift of baking and truly loved cooking. She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Swack of Cookeville and Leanne (Rich) Talley of Mt. Juliet, TN; two sisters, Elaine Clark, Wanda (Kenny) Stover of Algood, TN; brother, Earl Jaquess, of Algood; grandchildren, Logan and Reed Cass, and Zoey Welch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Bohannon; sister, Wilma Ward; grandson, Avery Swack Welch; and step-son, Chris Bohannon and her best friend in school Gail Terry. Pallbearers will be Zoey Welch, Reed Cass, Rich Talley, Rick Adkins, Earl Jaquess, Robert Steakley; and Honorary Pallbearer, Riley Bussell. Memorial contributions may be made to Smith Chapel Cemetery Fund, in C/O Earl Jaquess 301 Dry Valley Road, Cookeville, TN 38506 or a random act of kindness like sharing a Dr. Pepper in Mrs. Bohannon's memory. Her daughters would like to say a very special thank you to Willow Avenue Church of Christ for the three meals a week they brought to her. It was a true help to us. They would also like to say a special thanks to Wanda Keagle and Caris for understanding and working with their Mother's inability to see herself as a patient and for always indulging her in trying to take care of them. Also for the people who loved her unconditionally. A very special thank you to Jeff Hawkins, who was one of her very favorite gifted singers, for singing her home. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111. Share your thoughts and memories at www.hhhfunerals.com.
