BAXTER - Funeral services for Janice Allison, age 76, of Chattanooga and formerly of Baxter, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday December 27 at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Sarah Varnell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Allison Cemetery in Putnam County. Her family will receive friends Thursday 5 - 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Janice passed away Sunday evening December 22, 2019 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born August 5, 1943 in Putnam County to the late Ammon Hershel Allison and Agnes Clouse Allison. Janice was a retired bridge inspector for the State of TN with over 28 years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was also a talented pianist, having played at many churches, weddings and revivals in the Upper Cumberland area. She is survived by two sons, Richard Waller (wife, Laryssa) of Baxter, Robert Waller (wife, Leah) of Waynesboro, GA; three brothers, Jim Allison (wife, Linda) of White Co, TN, Freeman Allison (wife, Nelda), and Bob Allison, all of Baxter; grandchildren, Richard Waller II, Jessica Long, and Edie Waller; great-grandchildren, Myles and Hazel Willis; and special adopted son, Rodney Daugherty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandson, Jayden Warren Willis; and an infant sister. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
