Jane Dell Knight

Jane Dell Hembree Knight was born April 25, 1939 in Hilham, TN to Lillie Mae Masters Brown Hembree and Arthur Benjamin Hembree. She passed away July 6, 2024, surrounded by close family at Falkville Health and Rehab in Falkville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, David Harold Knight, her sister, Dorothy Jean Hembree, her brother, Arthur Benjamin Hembree, Jr., and Don Hembree, and her half-sisters, Doris Marie Brown Sink, and Alva Irene Brown Willeford.

She is survived by her daughter, Chrissa Knight (Tim) Hall, Hartselle, AL, her son, Jason Harold Knight, Hartselle, AL, her special friend Barb Mulqueen, and her beloved felines, Ms. Silver of 18 years and Ms. Cotton of 11 years.

Jane was a graduate from Central High School and Tennessee Technological University, both in Cookeville, TN. At TN Tech, she earned a B.S. Degree in Home Economics Education. She taught at West Mastin Lake Elementary School in Huntsville, AL, Hubberd Junior High School in Richman, Indiana, and was a caseworker for the Wayne County Welfare Department in Richmond, Indiana. After these employments, she chose to stay home and rear her two children which were the pride and joy of her life.

Jane became a born-again Christian at a very young age. She loved the Lord supremely and had a burden for her family and friends. She touched many lives through prayer and personal contacts and didn’t want them to miss an eternal home in Heaven.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 6:00PM ~ 8:00PM at Peck funeral home with a private family grave side service at Cookeville City Cemetery in Cookeville, TN.

The family wishes to thank Falkville Health and Rehab for their unconditional love and excellent care she received during the last three years and Southern Care Beacon - Hospice for comfort and care during her last days.
