James W. League

Graveside funeral services for James William League, age 89, of Baxter, will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Browns Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Mr. League died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Rhea County Medical Center in Dayton TN. He was born December 29, 1920 in Dekalb County TN to the late Albert League and Barbara Ann Maxwell League. Mr. League spent his life working as a farmer in Baxter TN. He was a member of Arnolds Chapel Methodist Church and later faithfully attended Lillies Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. His family includes: two daughters; Geraldine (Geri) Cassetty and husband Tom of Hixson TN, and Alberta Ann Beaty and husband Charles of Cookeville; one son, James Edward League and wife Dianna Taylor of Cookeville, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Pall-bearers will be Greg Allison, Ronnie Allison, C.J. Gann, Chris Cook, Austin Watts and Jacob Tayes. In addition to his parents, Mr. League was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Lyles League; one sister, Alberta Allison; and one brother, Waymond League.
