Funeral services for Mr. James Odell Swack 70 of Cookeville will be held Wednesday February 27 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Watson Cemetery. Rev. Richard Bond and Jack Sallee will officiate. Mr. Swack died suddenly Sunday morning February 24, 2013 at his home. He was born January 25, 1943 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Bascum and Juanita Finley Swack. Mr. Swack was a member of Dry Valley Presbyterian Church and a U. S. Army National Guard Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Master Woodworker and Craftsman who built his own home and built custom made cabinets for many homes in the Cookeville area. He retired in 1996 as Vocational Educational instructor (woodworking) at Cookeville High School with 30 years of service. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast, with a very special spot in his heart for his Miniature Horses and his tractor. He was exceptional Father, Grandfather, and devoted husband. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Mitzi Paul. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Saundra "Sandi"� Hale Swack; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracy Swack of Cookeville and Leanne and Rich Talley of Mt. Juliet, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Fiona Edwards of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, Avery Welch, Zoey Welch, Logan Cass, Reed Cass, Mateasha Edwards, and Aaron Edwards; brother, Howard Swack of Cookeville; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nellie and Buddy Paul of Knoxville and Linda King of Gallatin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Sallee, Joe Bertram, Bill Wrasman, David Jones, Clayton Lee, Jerry McCarter, Perry Bartlett, Eric Luke, and Gerald Myatt. Active Pallbearers will be Howard Swack, Harold McDaniel, Todd Edwards, Kevin Paul, Bryan King, and Danny Lee. Mr. Swack"�s family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
