Celebration of Life service for James Edward Qualls, 89 of Baxter will be Friday, March 22 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mr. Qualls died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at his home. He was born June 10, 1929 in Cisco, Georgia to the late Sam and Mamie Wells Qualls. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Ben, Bob and Charles Qualls. He was a retired materials handler with McCords of Cookeville. He also did masonry work throughout the Upper Cumberland area. He enjoyed working in his garden and hunting. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include wife of 59 years ( Married February 2, 1960 in Chattsworth, GA) Jewell Harville Qualls of Baxter, daughters and sons-in-law Sonja and Dan Dickson of Cookeville, Sharman and Todd Farris of Baxter, sons and daughters-in-law James and Marilyn Qualls of Baxter, Taylor and Tonya Qualls of Cookeville, grandchildren: Britnee and Tim Farestad, Justin and Chelsea Qualls, Coty Gardner and fiancee Lauren, Joshua and Brianna Qualls, Tyler Qualls, great-grandchildren: B.J. and Landon Farestad, Noah and Titan Qualls and Layla Gardner. Bro. John Darrell Davis, Bro. Josh Sherman and Bro. Bennie Ray Fields will officiate. Active Pallbearers will be Justin Qualls, Tim Farestad, David Harville, Todd Farris, Coty Gardner, Jordan Ortlepp and Dan Dickson.
