Funeral service for James Conred Hunter, 87, of Algood will be held Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Algood City Cemetery. His daughter Darlene Maxwell will deliver the eulogy. Mr. Hunter died Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013 at Masters Health Care. He was born in 1926 in Overton County, TN to the late James Samuel and Amanda Davis Hunter. Mr. Hunter served as a Supervisor with Public Works Department with the City of Algood. He retired in 1989 with over 20 years of service. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nannie Pearl Henry Hunter (who died December 5, 2007); son, David Lee Hunter; and two brothers, Walden O. Hunter and Samuel L. Hunter. Mr. Hunter is survived by his daughter, Darlene Hunter Maxwell of Algood; grandson, Philip D. Maxwell; two granddaughters, Holly D. Arms and Taylor N. Arms; sister, Inez Beevers; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 12 p.m. until service time at the Algood Chapel. His family wishes to express a very special Thank You to his caregivers at Masters Nursing Home for all they did.
