James Hale

Funeral services for Mr. James ‘Jim' Edward Hale, age 95 of Monterey, will be held Friday September 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Looper officiating. Graveside services and interment will be in Old Oaklandon Cemetery in Oaklandon, Indiana. His family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. He was born January 3, 1922 in Indiana to the late Robert Elmer and Gladys Case Hale. Jim was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was of the Assembly of God Church Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, James ‘Butch' Allen Hale and sister, Edna Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Dorothy Mae Hale (who he married June 3, 1942 in Lawrence, IN); daughter, Janice (Carmen) Halcomb of Monterey; grandchildren, Renee (Jason) Robbins, Bryan (Donna) Norrod, Christopher Norrod, Doug (Kristina) Hale, James ‘Jay' (Jacquie) Hale, Tim Hale and Eric Hale, eleven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Wendy Hale of Indianapolis, IN.
