Funeral services for James Dow Goff, age 82, of Baxter, will be held Monday, March 13, 2017 at 1 pm at the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Goff Cemetery in Dekalb County. Bro. Charlie West will officiate. His family will receive friends Sunday from 4pm until 8pm and again Monday from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Goff passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in October 5, 1934 in Putnam County to the late Lanis and Mable Allison Goff. After retiring from Fleetguard Filtrations, he worked at the Putnam County Fair. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family while perfecting his barbeque technique. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Stanley Dale Goff, and his brother Dwight Goff. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Thomas Goff, daughter, Debbie Jackson (Earl Baker), three sons, Jeff and Brenda Goff, Tony Goff, Jimmy and Jennifer Goff. Seven grandchildren Annie Jackson and Aaron Smith, Josh Goff and Melanie, Jesse Goff and Chelsea, John and Amanda Goff, Paris, Keegan, and Karli Goff. Four great-grandchildren Davie May Holloway, Iris Smith, Thor, and Axell Goff; brothers, Frank (Ann) Goff, and Richard (Brenda) Goff; and sisters, Dortha (Wayne) Smith and Nell (Dallas) Vinson.
