James Gaw

Funeral services for James Glenn Gaw, age 86 will be held Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church of Cookeville with Pastor Brad Windlan and Hillier Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery in Overton County . Mr. Gaw died Wednesday June 26, 2019 at his home. He was born Saturday January 14, 1933 in Cookeville, TN to Roy Sr. and Eula Malone Gaw. He worked in sales at Gaw Brothers Produce and was a farmer and cattleman. He has been a member (and a former deacon) of First Christian Church for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Gaw. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bessie Irene Pryor Gaw (whom he married May 30, 1953 in Ringgold, GA); daughter, Rita Gaw; granddaughter, Regina Gaw all of Cookeville; four brothers, Roy Gaw Jr., Shirley Gaw, Paul (Jeanette) Gaw, all of Cookeville and Jack Gaw of Nashville; two sisters, Velma Ferrell and Evelyn (Larry) Burgess all of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home and 9:00 am until service time at the church.
