A Celebration of Life Service for James McCloud, age 71, of Cookeville, will be 3 p.m. Saturday October 19 at Jefferson Avenue Church of God of Prophecy. Dana Fouts, Thelma Roby, and Carl Seibers will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. James passed away Monday October 14, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1948 in Sparta, TN to the late Comer and Callie Naomi Underwood McCloud. James was a retired custodian at Algood Elementary School. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of God of Prophecy and was a preacher and pastor for over 38 years at local churches. James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a faithful spirit and a humble heart. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Conatser McCloud, whom he married May 20, 1967 in Clarkrange, TN; two sons, Jeff (Joanna) McCloud of Canton, GA, and Jack McCloud of Allons; brother, Comer Jr. (Christi) McCloud of Rickman; four sisters, Estelle (Paul) Secord, Reba (Charles) Conatser, all of Rickman, Margaret McCloud, Martha (Mike) Holloway all of Cookeville; and three grandchildren, Jessica McCloud, Chandler McCloud, and Chase McCloud. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Ray McCloud. Memorial contributions may be made to the World Mission c/o Jefferson Ave. Church of God of Prophecy, 1580 S.
