Funeral services for James "Jim"� Bennett Drake, 70, of Cookeville will be held Friday, May 27 at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Clarence Jared will officiate. Mr. Drake passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 5, 1940 in Whitehouse, TN to the late Francis and Eunice Bennett Drake. Mr. Drake was a retired associate of General Motors with over 35 years of service. He loved to garden and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Drake. Mr. Drake is survived by his wife, Sharlene Reamsma Drake of Cookeville (whom he married May 7, 1983 in Clarkston, MI); daughter, Jennifer of Gainesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Stacy of Warren, MI; James and Kati of Waterford, MI; ten grandchildren, Ty, Cara, Macayla, Austin, Brandon, Makenzie, James, Xavier, Kayla and Amber and one sister, Pauline. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
