James Dale Mcbroom

BAXTER-Funeral services for James Dale McBroom, 68 of Cookeville, will be Wednesday, August 24 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Bro. Carl Scarlett will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. McBroom died suddenly Friday in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1953 in Cookeville to the late Sanford Edward and Ruby Lee Morphew McBroom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Royce and Donny McBroom, step-daughter Cristina Marie Lentz. He was a 1972 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. Dale retired as a lineman with Cummins Filtration in Cookeville with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, going to flea markets, collecting trinkets and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include wife of 25 years (Married July 11, 1997) Terry Lynn Conley McBroom of Cookeville, sisters Linda (Cat) Maxwell of Baxter, Wanda (David) Kilpatrick of Crossville, Judy (Richard )Payne of Baxter, brother Morris (Mary) McBroom of Cookeville, step son Lawrence Steven Hall of Cookeville, grandson Bryson Hall, host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Adrian, Anthony, Tony, Andrew, Ramey, and Mark McBroom, Willie and Trey Allison, and Chris Austin.
