James Breeding

Funeral services for James W. Breeding, age 93 of Algood, will be at 10 a.m. Friday November 12 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Ethan Breeding will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday 5 - 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m until time of services. James passed away Monday November 8, 2021 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born October 25, 1928 in Putnam County, TN to the late Talmadge and Willie Warren Breeding. James was US Army veteran, he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He also formerly served as Putnam County Register of Deeds. James owned and operated West Side Market and West Ice Company until his retirement. He was a member of Cookeville Masonic Lodge #266 F&AM and Al Menah Shrine Temple. He is survived by two sons, Larry Breeding, Mike (Rhonda) Breeding; brother, Fred (Betty) Breeding all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Ethan (Brooke) Breeding, Emily Breeding, and Tabitha (Matt) Durbin; great grandchildren, Kaitiebeth Bartlett, Joel, Beau, and Levi Breeding, and Gavin Durbin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Harp Breeding; brothers, Robert and Roy Breeding; sisters, Virginia Judd, Rosie Ledbetter, and Ruby Henderson.
