James Albert Tucker Sr.

James Albert Tucker was born in Walton, Florida, in St. Lucie County on April 5, 1928. He is the son of Charles Albert and Lida Cormany Tucker, the grandson of James Albert Tucker and Grandfather Cormany—truck farmers from Coesse, Indian. Mr. Tucker’s parents came to St. Lucie county in 1924, via train, with eldest child, Robert. They moved to Martin County soon afterward where he attended schools and graduated as Valedictorian and Class President of his senior class. He was All Conference Football player at the Stuart High School. Mr. Tucker had 13 brothers and sisters: Robert, John William (JW); Herbert, twins Kemp and Kermit; Max Lynn (Skeezix) Raymond and Richard of Charlotte, Virginia; Josephine; Marjorie and Marion. He married Ramona (Boots) Arnold of Stuart, Florida and had 4 children: James Albert Jr. of Palmetto, Florida, Charles Arnold—deceased, Mary Kathleen of Palm City, Florida and Dixie Lee Tucker Church of Hobe Sound, Florida. Mr. Tucker is survived by 8 grandchildren: James Albert III of Chiba, Japan; Frederick Melvin of Beaumont, Texas; Charles Arnold Jr. of Stuart, Florida; Carol Ann Alvarez of Meadville, Pennsylvania; Lee Khristine Marie Tucker Alcoser of San Antonis, Texas; Lee Ann Church of Orlando, Florida; Jonathan Tucker Church of Key West, Florida; Emily Jo Johnson, Christian, Sabrina and Gary of Palm City, Florida. He is survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle and Gallaxe Tucker of Chiba, Japan; Ryan Nathaniel and Tyler Tucker of Beaumont, Texas; Reid, Trout and Macy Tucker of Stuart, Florida. Mr. Tucker was a self-employed entrepreneur and worked as a butcher/meat market owner, marine contractor, house mover/demolition contractor and co-founder, with his wife, of the Southern Equipment Exchange—an advertising tabloid magazine. After buying back the property he grew up on located on Loop Road in Palm City, he moved a house onto the property and set up Granddad’s farm with various animals and a garden. He retired to Tennessee. Old farmers never die. They just get tilled under. Funeral Services for Mr. Tucker will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart FL. Burial will follow in the Fernhill Cemetery. The family will recieve friends on Wednesday evening, October 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
