Isabelle Flynn

Isabelle Margaret Beal Flynn, age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016, surrounded by family at her home in Cookeville, Tennessee. Isabelle is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Flynn of Lititz, PA; Tim (Angela) Flynn of Nashville; Diane (Eddy) Haynes, Cookeville; Richard (Ami) Flynn, Jacksonville, FL; Monica (Thor) Urness, Nashville; siblings, Sister Mary Arthur Beal, Watchung, NJ, and John (Paula) Beal, West Deptford, NJ; grandchildren Christina (Chris) Shiflett, Eric (Katrina) Gardner, Rosemary Gardner, Catherine Flynn, Mark Tomasko, Andrew Tomasko, Dylan Flynn, Mike Flynn, Colin Flynn, Devin Urness, Kelsey Urness, Lilly Urness; and by her great-grandchildren Tegan, Killian and Riley Shiflett. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Agnes Isabella Beal, by her husband of 34 years, Michael N. Flynn, by daughter, Kathleen Gardner, and by siblings Agnes Ledford, Thomas Beal, Joan Hennessey and Sister Mary Lucy Beal. Born on November 13, 1925, in Camden, NJ, she grew up in nearby Collingswood, NJ, where she acquired her avid love of books from her father. She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville since 1974, serving on the altar guild and parish council and participating in many women's prayer groups and bible studies. Isabelle devoted her life to being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, in Cookeville, TN. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Father Paul Nguyen officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception for friends and family will take place at the family home. Interment will follow at a later date in the Cookeville City Cemetery.
