Mr. Iris Wale “Mac” McLarty, 90, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at his home in Oxford, MS. A private family visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford. A private family graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Laodicea Cemetery (County Road 284, Lafayette Springs, MS). Bro. Allen Drewery will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McLarty was born in Lafayette Springs, MS to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewey McLarty. Mr. McLarty served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and he retired from the Mississippi Extension service in 1984. He was an avid farmer and gardener. He loved to square dance, travel, and go camping. Most importantly, Mr. McLarty loved his God, his church, and his family. Mr. McLarty is survived by his wife, Betty Rebstock McLarty; three daughters, Sharon (Harris) Dockins, of Russellville, KY, Sherry (Paul) Fairless, of O’Fallon, MO, and Sandy (George) Rogers, of Thaxton, MS; three sons, Tony McLarty, of Nashville, TN, Don (Vickie) Seymore, Jr., of Dexter, MO, and Richard (Roxanne) Seymore, of Gulf Shores, AL; one brother, Durley (Sue) McLarty, of Cookeville, TN; four grandsons, Adam (Melissa) McLarty of Nashville, Frank Harris (Amy) Dockins, of Spring Hill, TN, John Logan (Savannah) Dockins, of Wetumpka, AL, and Erik (Alison) Jones, of Oxford; eight granddaughters, Lee Dockins, of Russellville, Karly Beth (Kevin) Van Dam, of Denver, CO, Heather (Micheal) Snyder, of Lake of the Ozark, MO, Donielle (Robby) Jenkins, of Thaxton, Lara (Jay) Gregory, of O’Fallon, Jessica (Brad) Brown and Ashley (Landon) Miller, both of Dexter, and Ashley Copas, of Gulf Shores; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Mr. McLarty was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Dura McLarty; three brothers, Wayne McLarty, Hilton McLarty, and Shannon McLarty; and one sister, Bernice Black.
