Ida Florence Phillips

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ida Florence Phillips, Age 96, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel Of Dyer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 11:00a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Saylors Cemetery in White County. Mrs. Phillips passed peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ida was born January 25, 1918 in Beaver Creek, West Virginia to the late Wesley Moses Underwood and Lucy Alice Smith. Ms. Phillips was of the Protestant faith and was a homemaker. She is survived by her nephew and caregiver, Tom and wife Suzie Bennett of Cookeville; she also leaves behind several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Phillips; three sisters, Lucille Bennett, Delsie and Elma Underwood;five brothers, Denver, Oliver, Odell, Denise and Sherman Underwood. Family will serve as pallbearers.
