Howard Gaw

Funeral services for Mr. Howard Gaw, age 88, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gaw officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Gaw passed away peacefully Thursday morning January 11, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1929 in Putnam County, TN to the late Roy D. Gaw Sr. and Eula Malone Gaw. Howard and his brothers owned and operated Gaw Brothers Produce for many years. He was a charter member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Frida Gaw, Michael and Louise Gaw all of Cookeville, grandchildren, Eddie (Calina) Gaw, Jason (Erin) Gaw, Howard Stanton (Beth) Gaw, Sherry Crowell, great-grandchildren: Carley Gaw, Michael Gaw, Maverick Crowell, Luke and Noah Gaw; siblings, Roy Gaw Jr.,Velma Ferrell, James (Irene) Gaw, Shirley Gaw, Paul (Jeanette) Gaw, Evelyn (Larry) Burgess, and Jack Gaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Floy Mae (Flossie) Gaw, infant daughters, Debra Lynn Gaw and Sherry Annette Gaw; sisters-in-law, Geneva Gaw and Vera Gaw and brother-in-law, Robert Ferrell., Family will serve as pallbearers.
