A Celebration of life for Hollis Clay(Hedgecoth)Davis, age 62, of Cookeville will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday May 23, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hollis died Friday May 20, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1948 in Crossville, TN to the late (Roy) Robert Hedgecoth Davis and Leena Pearl Barnes. Hollis attended the Church of God, was a member of the Moose Lodge #329 in Greenville OH for 15 years, and was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Crossville. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife; Barbara Davis, four daughters; Christina (Jamie) McCloud of Crossville, Lisa (Rick) Schunk of Cambridge City IN, Viola Dixon (Robert) Wilson of Lenoir City, Katherine Rex of Cookeville, and one son; Timothy Bennett of Cookeville. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as five sisters; Nellie 'Poochie' Blaylock of Georgetown TN; Linda (Rick) Lucas of Vandalia OH, Elsie Hedgecoth (Danny Parks) of Crossville, Anna (Brent) Beatty and Vada (Lonnie) Rogers both of Grimsley TN. Hollis is also survived by two brothers Dallas 'Dugan' Hedgecoth (Regina) of Crossville and Tom Davis (Rosemary) of Farm Land IN. as well as several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. Hollis was preceded in death by his parents, a son William Glass. grandparents Homer and Nellie Barnes, Lee Kerley, Vance Davis, Mae Hedgecoth, one brother Homer Lee Matthews a brother-in-law Ronnie Blaylock and a son-in-law Bobby Dixon. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Bro. Jim Moore and Sister Carolyn Barnes will be conducting the services.
