Mr. Herman Cupp age 83 of New Tazewell, TN was born March 11, 1934 in Claiborne County and passed away May 17, 2017 at the Claiborne Medical Center with his family by his side. He was a member of Church of Christ in Tazewell, TN. Herman was in the funeral business for 40 years. Bauum Carlock Funeral Home of Mineral Wells, TX, Killingsworth Funeral Home of Ranger, TX, Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in Cookeville, TN. Owner of Madison Funeral Home of Madison, TN, Owner of Alexander Macon County Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN are just some of his honors. He was a Korean War Veteran as an 802nd Engineer Aviation Corporal in Battalion Company A, past President Rotary and Kiwanis, past President of the West Texas Funeral Directors Association and former Deacon in the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dannie and Katie (Miracle) Cupp, first wife and mother of his children, Claryce Cupp, infant son, Byron Cupp, brothers, Otis Cupp, Albert Cupp, John Riley Cupp, Glenn Cupp, and Roy Cupp and sisters Dorothy Roberts and Hannah Lee Cupp. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Rowena Cupp, sons, Dr. Jann Cupp and wife Sandy, Jon Cupp and wife Lina, daughters Karen Edgington and husband David, Kelly Lucius and husband Gary, step sons, Eric Barnes, Rodney Barnes and Doug Barnes. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Brothers, Harold Cupp and wife Doris, Ronel Cupp and wife Phyllis. Sister, Joyce Lavonne and husband Bob Bush. Sisters-in-Law, Peggy, Edith and Liz. Herman's funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. (EST) at Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN with Dr. Eddie Overholt officiating. Graveside services and interment follow on Monday at 2:00 (CST) at Crestlawn Cemetery in Cookeville, TN with Dr. Jann Cupp officiating. His family will receive friends Sunday, May 21, from 5pm – 8pm (EST) at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN.
