Henry Hughes

Graveside services and interment for Mr. Henry Dow Hughes, age 87, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday August 31 at the Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Keith Tosh will officiate. Mr. Hughes passed away Monday evening August 26, 2019 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. He was born August 21, 1932 in Putnam County to the late Henry Carl and Anna Mae Scarlett Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a US Air Force veteran. He was a retired floor covering installer. He was good natured and loved to laugh and cut up with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Doris Hughes; son, Dale (Teresa) Hughes; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hughes; grandchildren, Samantha (Mickey) Guinn, Scott (Emily) Hughes, all of Cookeville; great-grandchildren, Tayvin and Libbey Hughes; step grandson, Tyler (Beth) Jacquess; step great-grandson, Jackson Jacquess. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Goodwin Hughes; two sons, Lynn and David Hughes; sister, Dorothy Fields; and brother, Kenneth Hughes.
