Helen Louise Ross

Mrs. Helen L. Deffendoll Ross, 98 of Cookeville, passed into eternal life on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1923 in Petersburg, IN to the late Benjamin F. and Mary Ella Payton Deffendoll. Mrs. Ross spent most of her life in Buena Park, CA before moving to Tennessee. She enjoyed reading her Bible, having her family nearby and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Morgan and son-in-law, Dale Purcell. Mrs. Ross is survived by her son, Ronald K. (Sandra) Morgan of Cookeville; daughter, Patricia L. (Ham) Davis of Paducah, KY; sister, Bonnie J. Hunt of Algood, and brother, Benny Deffendoll; three grandchildren, Rhonda Morgan of Cookeville, Michael Morgan of Gillette, Wyoming and Eric Purcell of Seattle, Washington; great-grandchildren, Austin Morgan of Larmie,Wyoming, Erica Morgan Cumha of Japan, and Audrey Morgan of South Dakota, Sarah Purcell of San Antonio, TX and Emma Purcell of Shelton, Washington; and five great-great grandchildren.
