Helen Johnson

Frances Helen Johnson, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, at NHC of Cookeville. Born on February 17, 1946, in Cookeville, Helen's life was marked by adventure, travel, and time with friends and family.

Helen is survived by her mother, Louise Goodwin; her son, Eddie Farris (Tammie Carr) of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Morgan Farris of Cookeville, Brooke Farris of Scottsdale, AZ, and Carter Sells of Smyrna; her son-in-law, Jeff Sells of Smyrna; and a special friend, Bob Johnson of Nashville. Helen was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Goodwin, and her daughter, Penny Sells.

Helen's professional life was marked by a remarkable 42-year tenure at AVCO Aerostructures in Nashville. Helen was instrumental in the building of wings for corporate and military fighter jets. Beyond her professional achievements, Helen was known for her adventurous spirit and love of travel. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Funeral services for Helen will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday November 7 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Fox and Roy Paulk will officiate. Pallbearers will be staff from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Interment will follow at Shipley Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.
