Helen Herren

BAXTER-Funeral services for Helen Marie Herren, 82 of Baxter, will be Saturday, March 26 at 3 P.M. from Herrens Chapel Church of Christ. Interment will be the G.V. Herren Family Cemetery. Mrs. Herren died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, peacefully at home in her sleep. She was born in Baxter on June 11, 1933 to the late Joe and Elva Dyer Bradford. Her father died when she was two and her mother and step-father, Collie Brown raised her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Zina Lee Herren on October 9, 2003, foster son Tommy Hicks, sister Rose Sutton, brothers Joe Bradford, Jr. and Floyd Bradford. She was a member and devoted Christian at Herrens Chapel Church of Christ. Helen was a retired cook. She cooked for the Meals on Wheels Program at the Senior Citizens, for King Salads, at Baxter Elementary School and retired from Upperman High School in Baxter. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for family and friends. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law Treasa and Bruce Clouse of Sparta, Kimberly Smith of Cookeville, son Carson Herren of Baxter, sister Geneva Haller of Silver Point, brothers and sisters-in-law James "BOB" and Rosa Bradford of Jacksonville, Fl, Nelson and Ruthie Bradford of Hagerstown, Md., grandchildren: Shannon and wife Heather Clouse of Texas, Matt Clouse of Sparta, Cody Smith and Kristin Smith both of Cookeville, Brandon Herren of Ohio, great-grandchildren: Jared Clouse, Jordan Clouse, Callie Jean Clouse, Cori Paige Clouse, Cayse Clouse, and Clayton Clouse , host of nieces and nephews, special fur baby: Jay. Special Thank you to Dr. Jane Gotcher and her staff, all the home health nurses and caregivers. Bro. Johnny W. Fox and Bro. Phil Loftis will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Helen's family will receive friends at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 8 PM, Friday 5 to 8 PM and at the church Saturday from 12 Noon to service time.
