Funeral services for Helen Grace Covington Copeland, 89, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Overton County. Rev. Pat Handlson will officiate. Mrs. Copeland died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. She was born August 20, 1921 in Nashville, TN to the late Burgess and Ethel Grace Stucker Covington. Mrs. Copeland was a member of Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University where she earned her bachelors degree and earned her masters degree at the University of Tennessee in Home Economics. She was a retired Home Economics Teacher of Baxter Seminary. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, PEO (Philthenthropic Education Organization) and Presbyterian Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Thomas H. Copeland, son, Edward H. Copeland, daughter, Lanah Copeland Dyer, two brothers, William Covington and James Covington. Mrs. Copeland is survived by a daughter, Lisa Parham and James D. Glass of Fairview, TN; two grandsons, Zachariah and Isaiah Parham, brother and sister-in-law, John & Glenda Covington of Hiram, GA; two sisters, Lois Covington Lacy of Oak Ridge and Lucile Covington Hyder of Livingston and a sister-in-law, Mary Dimple Covington. The family will receive friends Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
