Funeral services for Helen Louise Deere Bundrant, 74, of Cookeville will be held Friday, January 20 at 1 p.m. at New Beginning Fellowship Church with interment to follow in West Cemetery. Pastor Randy Hill will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Friday 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Bundrant died Monday, January 16, 2012 at her home. She was born September 4, 1937 in Bristol, TN to the late Preston Wayne "PW"� and Mae Leslie Deere. Mrs. Bundrant studied psychology at Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA and earned her Masters degree in Christian Education at Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Helen met her husband of 50 years, Jim Bundrant, while in college. They married in 1961 and served the Lord together as missionaries to South Korea for 22 years. After their time in Korea, they lived in Bristol, TN; Huntsville, AL; Appalachia & Big Stone Gap, VA; before moving to Cookeville in 1998. She was a member of New Beginning Fellowship Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Deere. Mrs. Bundrant is survived by her husband, Jim Bundrant of Cookeville; three daughters, Suzanna Greenwell and husband Ralph Hoyt Greenwell of Waverly, TN; Carol Hofer and husband, Matt of Johnson City, TN; Holly Bundrant, and a son, Doug Bundrant and wife Carla all of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Rhendi Greenwell, Olivia Thornburg, Abby Thornburg, Ivy Thornburg, Trey Bundrant, Andrew Bundrant and Mary Grace Bundrant, one great-grandchild, Amiyah Turner, a brother, Wayne Deere and wife Judy of Johnson City; niece, Leslie Deere and nephews, Matthew, Ira & David Deere. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, in honor of Helen"�s deep love for the Lord and service to Him, memorial contributions may be made to New Beginning Fellowship Church, PO Box 2367, Cookeville, TN 38502 or to The Gideons International (www.gideons.org).
