Hazel Goodson

Funeral services for Hazel Helen Goodson, 84, of Cookeville, formerly of Prattville, Ala., will be held at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Friday, June 3, at White Chapel Funeral Home in Montgomery, Ala. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Goodson died Sunday, May 29, 2011, in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born July 4, 1926, in Ancona, Ill. to the late John and Margaretha Barbara Schieler Crow. Mrs. Goodson graduated in 1944 as valedictorian at Long Point High School, Long Point, Ill., and attended Illinois State University, Normal, Ill. She served for six years in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Before her retirement, she was employed as a quality control supervisor at Saluto Foods Corp., Montgomery, and later as an electrician"�s helper and accountant for her husband. She was a member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church, Montgomery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Goodson, who died May 22, 2011; a sister, Kathryn Klendworth, and two brothers, Raymond Crow and Burdell Crow. Her family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Goodson and Jeff Austen of Cookeville and Patricia Goodson and Dean Roddick of Laramie, Wyo.; one brother, Aldace Crow, of Riverside, California; and two grandchildren, Martha Austen and Jesse Austen, both of Cookeville.
