Hartford Finley Fowler

Graveside Funeral Services for Hartford Finley Fowler, age 81, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 4, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Mr. Fowler passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014. Hartford was born September 27, 1932 in White County TN to the late Milous Finley Fowler and Stela Mae Jackson. Harford is survived by his three sons all of Cookeville—Jerry Lee Fowler, Michael H. (Kim) Fowler, Mark Finley (Deloris) Fowler; four brothers all of Cookeville—Thomas (Elsie) Fowler, Bob (Pat) Fowler, Ronnie Fowler and Holly (Doris) Fowler; and one sister—Lillian (Harold) Lafever of Baxter. He is survived by four grandchildren—Ryan Hart Fowler, Makenzie J. Fowler, Breanna P. Fowler and Cameron Fowler. Mr. Fowler served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict and was highly decorated. He enjoyed spending time at the Waffle House sharing war stories and discussing politics. He also was an avid pool player. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Fowler and two sisters—Lena Bell Fowler and Mildred Spears. Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons and family. Brother Ralph Dunn will officiate the service.
