Harry "Skeet" Ashmore

Graveside services and interment with military honors services for Harry “Skeet” Leroy Ashmore, age 97, of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday August 27 at Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield, IL. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Bass Patton Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Ashmore passed away Thursday August 22, 2019 in Algood, TN at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. He was born July 31, 1922 in Decatur, IL to the late Charles and Diccie (Darling) Ashmore. Mr. Ashmore was a US Army WWII veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre. He attended Vine Branch Community Church in Cookeville. He is survived by a daughter, Marsha Dianne Ashmore of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Todd (Jackie) Ratermann, Teresa (Dale) Hughes, Bryan (Libby) Ratermann, all of Cookeville; David Ashmore of Alton, IL, Chris Wagehoft of Phoenix, AZ, and Matthew Wageholft of Springfield, IL; eight great-grandchildren, Amber Wagehoft, Harley (Jace) Collins, Liberty Ratermann, Isabell Ratermann, Samantha (Mickey) Guinn, Catherine, Chloe, and Carrigan Ratermann; two sons-in-law, Steve Meyer of Springfield, IL, and Bob Ratermann of Cookeville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Elaine Ashmore; daughter, Darla Meyer; son, David Ashmore; infant child; brothers, Frank and Albert, and sisters Juanita, Irene, and Norma Jean. The family would like to convey their sincere appreciation to the staff at Signature Health Care for the care rendered to Mr. Ashmore during his time there.
