Harry Newman

Mr. Harry Lee Newman, age 82, of Cookeville and formerly of Lincoln, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Services will be held at a later date. Mr. Newman was born February 10, 1935 in Strasburg, IL to the late Albert and Pauline Kruger Newman. Mr. Newman was an US Army veteran and was retired from the maintenance department of Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL. He was an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed wood carving. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Christine and Allen Blackmon of Cookeville, Kimberly Hance of Clay City, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Nora Newman of Port Charlotte, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lena Newman of Delavan, IL; five grandchildren, Kyle and Nicholas Newman, Kassandra Sprague, Hope and Faith Blackmon; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Sprague, two sisters, Dorothy Hardin, and Mary Riggs; and two brothers, Max and Kenneth Newman.
